Dollar. 1798. VF-30. Bolender-8. Rarity-2. Cleaned, but now retoned a medium and natural appearing gray. Struck from a worn die, with weak stars on the obverse and a touch weak on the reverse at the lower portion of the eagles left wing. Nice rims and surfaces.

Lot 401
Dollar. 1799. VF-30. Bolender-11a. Rarity-3. Some minor rim problems around the eagle's tail. Clean rims and devices, and always popular with collectors. Multiple clash marks above the date, which Bolender called "suction marks", these were created when the dies clashed together without a planchet to strike, imparting some device detail on the other die. In this case, the clouds over the eagle can be clearly seen over the date on the obverse.

Lot 403
Gobrecht Dollar. 1839. Starless reverse. Judd 105. Silver. Restrike. NGC graded Proof 65. Die alignment III according to Breen, as the eagle flys horizontally when the coin is rotated and composes about 2/3 of the 300 proofs struck. Boldly struck and not from the worn dies as sometimes seen. This magnificent gem boasts a uniform deep violet iridescent tone on both sides. A mere 5 coins have graded by NGC and none higher. This beautiful gem certinaly ranks with the finest known.
